We are looking for a talented, driven, Pipeline Developer to help us build the world’s first true holographic ecosystem by helping to design next-generation pipelines and workflows for Light Field Lab’s SolidLight holographic display technology.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience and help design, develop, and implement critical pipeline tools and workflows while collaborating with the creative and technical leadership to streamline content creation for our proprietary holographic displays. Must have a start-up company mentality and be flexible with assignment variations and project deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Architect technical workflows that optimize the creation of real-time and pre-rendered holographic content.
- Develop new tools and scripts that evolve the content creation pipeline.
- Collaborate with software development team to formulate and implement a testing methodology for our holographic renderers that benchmark visual effects and/or game pipelines.
- Provide technical support and documentation for (non-technical) artists and adjacent departments.
- Research new technology and novel approaches to increase the efficiency and usability of our content creation tools.
- Author workflow scripts between DCC tools using Python, facilitating seamless integration and efficient workflows for the art and development teams.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with software APIs such as Unreal, Maya, Houdini, Blender, Nuke
- Possess thorough understanding of content production workflows for visual effects and/or games
- Programming/scripting experience (e.g. Mel, Python, PyQT and/or C++).
- Experience in developing tools, scripts, and plug-ins to help streamline workflow.
- Prior experience developing in a Windows environment.
- Ability to communicate between technical developers and non-technical artists
- Good command of English, excellent in written communication
- Must be a team player and work well within a team environment
- High attention to detail required
Key Competencies
- Passion for helping to develop new technologies within the holographic ecosystem
- A degree in computer science, engineering, math or equivalent experience is preferred
- Proficient with profiling tools in the examination & diagnosis of performance issues
- Experience working with Unreal Engine or another game engine
- Familiar with version control tools (e.g. Perforce, Git)
- Experience with 3D scanning and AR/VR workflows.
- Experience with a USD asset pipeline.
- Experience of working under a Unix/Linux systems environment.
- Previous experience working with motion capture data.
- Interest and capacity to work with proprietary toolsets
